How Facemory works

Facemory turns a folder of event photos into something a guest can search with their own face. The photographer uploads once; each guest finds their own photos in seconds without scrolling through thousands of images.

1. The photographer creates an event

The photographer creates the event in Facemory Studio, sets the language, chooses whether the gallery can be browsed freely or only by face search, and can choose an earlier date for the guest page to close. How long the photos are kept is set by the event's package and counted from the first photo upload. They also confirm they may upload the photos and that attendees were told their faces will be processed.

2. Photos are uploaded and indexed

Photos upload to private storage. Facemory then detects the faces in every photo — including people in group shots — and adds each clear face to a search index kept for that event only, run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Indexing only starts once the photographer has completed the event confirmation.

3. Guests open the event

Guests reach the event through a link or a printed QR code. No account, no password and no app download. Before a device can be used to search, the guest is shown how the face check is used and must agree explicitly.

4. One face check finds their photos

The guest completes a short live face check with their camera. The image from it is compared only against the photos from that one event, and Facemory does not save it. The guest gets back the photos they are matched to, and can view, share or download them where the photographer allows it.
